Darrell Wayne Fisher, age 58, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014.
A son of the late Bennie and Norma Jean (Frayne) Fisher, Darrell was born on November 18, 1955, in Wichita Falls, Texas. On August 15, 1985, he married Glenda Hallmark.
Darrell was a hard-working man. Darrell retired after 22 years from the Wichita County Precinct 1 Road Maintenance Crew. Darrell was a member of Christ Gospel Church where he faithfully served as Deacon, Greeter, Maintenance man, bus driver, and was known by many as the "Candy Man". Darrell never met a stranger, was kind-hearted and always happy. Darrell enjoyed cooking, having BBQ's, fishing and bargain hunting and most of all, spending time with his family. Darrell was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Glenda Fisher, seven children, Scotty Kemper and his wife, Angela, Bobby Fisher and his wife, Dawn, all of Wichita Falls, Benjamine Fisher and his wife, Shannon of Natural Bridge, Virginia, Kristy Stone of Iowa Park, Chris Kemper and his wife, Mechelle of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Steven Fisher and his wife, Christina of Wichita Falls and Daniel Lakin and his wife, Ashley, of Burkburnett, a sister, Arminda Earley of Wichita Falls, his brother, Danny Fisher and his wife, Jane of Dean and nineteen grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Christ Gospel Church with Rev. Ken Matthews, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
