Clayton Thomas, age 91, of Estatoe Acres in Spruce Pine died Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Charles George V.A. Medical Center in Asheville.
Clayton was born on February 3, 1923 in Yancey County and was the son of the late Cas and Ella Roberts Thomas. He was also preceded in death by a brother; S.F. Thomas and brother in laws; Glen Pendle and Jimmy Smith. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and a survivor of Pearl Harbor. Also, he was the owner/operator of Clayton Thomas Siding Company.
