Richard Bryan Thorn, born October 29, 1938, passed away quietly on July 28, 2014.

He was born to John Bryan Thorn and Rayola Shepherd in Spring Canyon, Utah and was the first of six children.

Richard served an LDS mission in New York State and served honorably in the United States Army.

He came home to marry the love of his life, Laurie Warthen, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Richard was a loving husband and wonderful father of three girls, Annette Anderson, D'Ann Jackson, and Lisa Whittaker.

Richard was known for his many artistic talents, great sense of humor, and kind, soft spoken nature.

He will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him.

Richard now joins Laurie, Annette, and his two brothers, Floyd and Johnny in paradise. Richard is survived by his daughters, D'Ann and Lisa, as well as ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his three sisters, Nelda VanAusdal, LeeAnn Gonzales, and Carole Bagley.

A viewing will be held at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in the Riverton Cemetery.
