Grenada Gazette, Feb. 25, 1888, page 8, column 3:
"MARRIED
At the residence of the brides' parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Weir, six miles east of Grenada, by the Rev. J.C. Carothers, on Tuesday evening February 21st, 1888, Mr. E.M. Ransom to Miss Ophelia Weir; and Mr. Gaston Peeples to Miss Mattie Weir, all of this county. The young persons composing the two couples above referred to were all raised here in our midst, and are, from honored and much respected parents. An excellent supper had been prepared for the assembled guests, which we are told were rich in daities (sic?) and abundant in quantity. The young persons present indulged in the merry dance until near the dawning of another day, and will long remember the pleasure of the evening. The writer acknowledges an invitation to attend the nuptials of the young people, and regrets that it was impossible for him to be present. They have the best wishes of the GAZETTE for a long and happy journey."

After his wife Mattie's death, Gas Peeples continued living with his children at Weir Springs plantation, next door to his brother-in-law Frank Weir. Frank Weir owned the property.

Gaston Peeples and Oscar Hamton Peeples patented a type of garden hoe in 1909, Patent Number 959.797, Garden Implement, patent filed Nov. 9, 1909, serial number 526,989 (Official Gazette of the United States, p. 1234).
