EAST BARRE - Douglas J. Manning, 84, of Sunnyside Drive and formerly of Lower Websterville, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin.

The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre is in charge of arrangements.

Parents - Wilbert Jeremiah and Avis Pearl (Perry) Manning.

Graduated from Spaulding High School - 1949.

Veteran - US Marines - Korean War (stationed in Japan as an equipment operator).

Prior to his retirement he as an assistant purchasing agent for the Rock of Ages Corporation

He was a member of the Websterville Baptist Church, VFW MacKenzie-Webster Post 10, the New England Ox Teamsters Association, Sno-Bees and served on the Barre Town Elementary School Boar

He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting,raising beef cattle and showing and pulling his oxen in competitions.

Survived by his wife; three daughters; seven grandchildren, ; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters; a brother; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by his parents, a grandson, Jeffrey Haynes, and a great-grandchild, Angel Haynes
