Connie M. Rose of Amherst, Va. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Fairmont Crossing Nursing Home. She was born February 16, 1920, to the late Willie Massie Martin and Mary Alice Rhodes Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Rose; two sons, George Macon Rose and Massie "Buck" Rose; seven sisters; and one brother. She worked for the Amherst County School Board and was a Avon Sales Representative for many years. Those left to cherish her memories are one son, Henry Rose of Lynchburg, Va.; three daughters, Dorothy Fletcher, Brenda J. Rose of Amherst, Va., and Annie Mae Reid West Daniel (Jay) of Baltimore, Md.; one daughter-in-law, Sarah Rose of Lynchburg, Va.; 31 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; 37 great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. A special thanks to the staff of Fairmont Crossing Nursing Home for their care and support that was given to her during her stay. A wake will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Community Funeral Home from 7:30 until 8:30 p.m. The funeral will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2014, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with Pastor Rodney Sandidge, eulogist and Minister Jasper Fletcher, officiating.
