Mostyn ‘Carl’ Lumbard of Otsego, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at his home. Carl was born June 6, 1953 in Flint to James and Mary (O’Brien) Lumbard.
In 1971 he graduated from Comstock High School. He attended the Otsego Church of God. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting and traveling.
On July 13, 1974 in Comstock he married Dixie Adams, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Chris Lumbard of Kalamazoo, Melissa Raseman of Plainwell and Brandy Paige; four grandchildren, Andrew, Owen and Ian Raseman and Makalia Paige; a brother, James (JoAnn) Lumbard of Allegan; a sister-in-law, Ellen Lumbard of Portage; a brother-in-law, Lyle Smeltzer of Parchment; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; lifelong friends, Dan and Leslie Butcher of Otsego.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Corodon; and a sister, Jeanette Smeltzer.
Carl’s family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Monday at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Stephen Burrow officiating. Burial will be at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego.
