Lavaughn (Hawkins) Kelso, age 98, of Fountaintown, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Ashford Place Health Campus. She was born on December 14, 1915 in Shelby County as the daughter of Smith and Addie E. (Noe) Hawkins.

She graduated from Morristown High School in 1933. She married Lewis K. Kelso on December 14, 1941 in Morristown.

She worked for Moores Grocery for 11 years. Mrs. Kelso was a member of Fountaintown United Methodist Church. She was active with Fountaintown Tuesday Club, Over Fifty Club, and the United Methodist Women's Group.

Lavaughn is survived by her nephew Kim (Margie) Clark of Morristown; niece Beth (Rick) Keffaber of Fountaintown. She was preceded in death by her parents, Smith and Addie E. (Noe) Hawkins; husband, Lewis K. Kelso; brothers, Carl Hawkins, Ralph Hawkins, Ray Hawkins, Harlan Hawkins; and sister, Hamah Clark

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Fountaintown United Methodist Church, 11715 N. Main Street, Fountaintown, IN 46130. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation. Pastor Gwendolyn Pew will be officiating. Burial will follow at Fountaintown Cemetery in Fountaintown.
