Jan R. Johnson, 74, of Waco, Texas, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at 7:05 p.m. in Temple, Texas. Services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel. Burial will follow in Mooreville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Jan was born in Corbin, Ky., where she grew up and attended school. She married Wayne D. Johnson on Nov. 8, 1955 in Gray, Ky. Jan had a great love for life, her family, her extended family and really loved to travel abroad.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; and her daughter, Deborah Jan Johnson Cross.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Renee Cross; son, Christopher Wayne Johnson Cross; son-in-law, Wayne Douglas Cross and wife, Gloria Irene; grandchildren, Zachary D. Cross, Jakob Stephen Lott, Mildred "Millie/Mimi" Lane Cross; mother, Ruby Peace; sister, Gloria Moore; nephew, Paul Douglass, of Gray, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
