Mr. Chris Lee Holmes, age 54, of Pilot Mountain, passed Wednesday, August 26,
2009 at Dr. J.R. Jones Medical Center.
He was born December 19, 1954 in Stokes County to Donald Buck Holmes and the
late Verlene Bodenheimer Holmes.
Mr. Holmes had a lifelong passion for carpentry and law enforcement. He loved
his family, good friends, neighbors and his church family. His hobbies included
hunting, gardening and helping others in the community.
Mr. Holmes was a member of the Pinnacle Lions Club and Westfield Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife: Donna Baker Holmes and sons: Brandon & Andrew
Holmes, all of the Home; daughter: Amy Holmes and son: Stephen Holmes, both of
King, NC; granddaughter: Kelly Holmes; father: Donald Buck Holmes of King, NC;
sister & brother-in-law: Robin & Bill Smith and brother & sister-in-law: Timmy &
Judy Holmes, all of Pinnacle, NC; several nieces & nephews; special
mother-in-law: Mrs. Gray Epperson of Pilot Mountain, NC and special pets:
Boomer, Echo & Hazel.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Holmes was preceded in death by his father-in-law
and best friend, Gilmer Epperson.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at
Westfield Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Joel Stephens with interment to follow
in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Westfield
Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
