Born October 22, 1914 to David J. and Mary Amy Johnson Stevens in Ysleta, Texas, she grew up in the Mormon Colonies in Mexico, and served full time missions in Mexico and California.
She married Don Hyrum Smith, and they are parents of eight children.
She graduated from BYU, consistently served in church callings, and taught at Stansbury Elementary.
She is preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Lori Dawn White (Royd), and is survived by Amy Whetten (Glen), Rosetta Smith (Ralph), David Smith (Marilyn), Steven Smith (Kristine), Michael Smith (Lari), Eric Smith (Laurie), and Gina Harsh (Lemuel). There are forty-five grandchildren and eighty-seven great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be held on Friday, 1 August 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.. The funeral will take place on Saturday, 2 August 2014 at 11:00 a.m., after a 9:00 a.m. viewing, in the Twenty-Fifth Ward Building, 1145 West 500 South, Salt Lake City.
