FREDERICKSBURG - Mrs. Paschal D. "Pat" Thompson, nee Dyron Florene Hickman of Fredericksburg, passed away in her residence on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the age of 83. She was born July 28, 1929 in Taft, the daughter of Forrest Bennett Hickman and Bessie Whatley Hickman.
Reared in San Patricio County, she graduated from Mathis High School. She married Paschal D. "Pat" Thompson on November 22, 1952 at First Baptist Church in Mathis. She retired from Artesia Public Schools in Artesia, New Mexico, and was an active member of First Baptist in Fredericksburg.
She is survived by her husband, Pat Thompson of Fredericksburg; son, Michael Thompson of Austin; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann and Harvey Apple of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Kyle Chapman (Sofia), Cole Chapman (Lauren), and Anna Dell Apple; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Betty Pinkston of San Marcos; sister-in-law, Billie Hickman of Smithville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 4 -6 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel, Fredericksburg. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Fredericksburg, with Pastor D.G. McCoury officiating.
