Mrs. Gerald W. Woodard, 73, nee Edna Ann Wuertz, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church with the Rev. Seth Dorn officiating.
Paulette Peterson and Linda Welch were the organists while Lea Feuge, Laci Kolle and Lindsey Hickman sang.
Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday evening, Oct. 24, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home where the body lay in state prior to the funeral.
Mrs. Woodard was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Amlin, OH, the daughter of Ernest William Wuertz and Florence Vollrath Wuertz. She married Gerald W. Woodard on Aug. 8, 1954, at St. John Lutheran Church in Amlin, OH, and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Woodard is survived by two daughters and two sons, including Brian Woodard of Ohio; James Woodard of Oklahoma; Linda Bernhold and her husband, Gregg, of Indiana; and Phyllis Malchow of Missouri; seven grandchildren, and her mother, Florence Vollrath Wuertz of Ohio.
Also surviving are three brothers and sisters-in-law, including George and Haila Wuertz of Arizona, Donald and Karma Wuertz of Ohio and Dennis and Carolyn Wuertz of Kentucky.
Her father preceded her in death.
