Services for Jo Ann Jones Fowler, 60, of Lufkin, will be held in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
Jo Ann was born January 31, 1954 in Lufkin, Texas. She passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at her daughter's residence.
Jo Ann was a loving mother, daughter and sister. She worked as a caretaker with home health care. She loved her gatherings with family and friends and took care of many people. She never met a stranger. She loved the outdoors, especially the Sabine River. She enjoyed poetry and listening to and watching church services. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an excellent cook.
Jo Ann is survived by her father, Joe Kenneth Jones; daughter, Stacey Hooker (Deana Flynt); son, James Redd; daughter, Angela Redd, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Brady Hooker, Sydney Hooker, Tristan Redd, and Austin Redd; brothers and sisters-in-law, Darrell and DeeDee Jones, Ronnie and Gaylene Jones and Randy Jones; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dora Ann Harris; and granddaughter, Amya Redd.
Jo Ann's family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
