Sarah was adopted by the late Morgan Ward Redus and Amo Atchley Redus. She grew up in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from Highland Park High School and later, attended Centenary College. Sarah married William S. Ward on March 2, 1963. They made their homes in Dallas, University Park, Allen, and in 1985 they moved to Ellis County. Sarah worked for the Morton Cancer Hospital as a nurse and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, William S. Ward; sons, Danny Ward and wife, Jenny, and Kyle Ward and wife, Tricia; daughter, Kelley Cruzan and husband, Jay, all of Ellis County; grandchildren: Caroline, Morgan, Rachel, Grant, Chance, Lexi, Layne, Carsen, and Seth. A16
