Dustin recieved a heart transplant on May 2, 1992 when he was 10 years old. He was in the 1996 United States Transplant Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah for Team Ohio. He was a member of the 1998 United States Transplant Olympics in Ohio for Team Ohio where he recieved a Bronze Medal for Cycling. He had also attended Cambridge High School.
Surviving with his parents are: 1 sister; Ronda (Chris) Toms of Nokomis, Florida, 2 step-sisters; Heather (Ben) Harper of Cambridge, Ohio and Leesha Shipley of Cumberland, Ohio, 3 brothers; Scott Knight of Cambridge, Ohio, Jamie (Melissa) Kaiser of Cambridge, Ohio and Craig Kaiser of Phoenix City, Alabama, a grandmother; Eileen Knight of Cambridge, Ohio and a special friend Christina Whittle of Cambridge, Ohio.
He was proceeded in death by a grandmother; Charlene Holmes.
