Kevin Lamont Pugh, 41, of Montgomery and native of Toddtown, transitioned into eternity on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Baptist South Hospital Montgomery.

Kevin was born the eldest of three sons to Carlton James and Patricia Pugh on February 21, 1973. He was a faithful member of the Love Center Full Gospel Baptist Church in Montgomery. Kevin was employed as an IT Technician for the State of Alabama. He was a member of the 1991 graduating class of Clarke County High School of Grove Hill where he participated in various activities. But Kevin will be well-known as an outstanding tuba player for the Royal Band of Blue Marching Band. Kevin continued his education at Auburn University of Montgomery and was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Left to cherish his memories are a devoted wife, Charlotte Sexton Pugh, of Montgomery, one son, Karrington Pugh, Montgomery; step-father-in-law, Joseph Sexton, Montgomery; four step-children; JaKayla Sexton, Anthony Sexton, Randall Eatmon, and Cameron Sexton all of Montgomery; parents; Carlton and Patricia Pugh of Tacoma, Wash.; two brothers; Christopher (Anna) Pugh, of Rochester, New York and Dante Pugh, of Seattle, Wash.; six uncles, Jessie (Lou Della) Pugh, Toddtown, Marshall (Joanne) Pugh, Plano, Texas, Rev. Bernard (Tammy) Pugh, Orlando, Fla., Daryl (Annjeannte) Pugh, Mesa, Ariz.; Donald Pugh, Lithonia, Georgia and Joseph Beaty, Huntsville; five aunts, Glenda (James) Butler, Stone Mountain, Georgia, Eunice Taylor, Jamaica Queens, New York, Linda (Jeramiah) Ardis, Madison, Angel Beaty, and Deanna Ardis, both of Huntsville, Lelia Pugh of Toddtown; one great-uncle Harvey Flowers, Dothan and one great-aunt Flora Crawford, Cincinnati, Ohio. A host of cousins other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carlton and Daisy Pugh and Alfia Flowers Beaty and two uncles, Henry Copeland and Lawrence Pugh.

A celebration of life will be held at Pine Chapel Baptist Church No. 2 in Toddtown Friday, Aug. 1 beginning with viewing at 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral hour. Rev. Allen Barnes is pastor and Overseer Tony D. Peoples of the Love Center Full Gospel Baptist Church will be the officiating minister. Interment will follow in the Pine Chapel Cemetery.
