Helen was the beloved wife of William J. 'Bill' Collins for 65 years. Helen and Bill lived most of their married life in West Roxbury and Norwood, MA. She worked as a secretary at St. Theresa's Rectory in West Roxbury for many years.
She was born September 21, 1917 in Malden, MA, a daughter of the late Dennis Bulman and Elizabeth Sweeney Bulman.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jeanne Gifford of Melrose, MA; and brother, Joseph Bulman of Malden, MA; and grandson, Christopher P. Collins.
Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Janice M. Collins (Mrs. Joseph) Griffiths of Newport, RI, William J. (Christina) Collins Jr. of Newport, RI, and Richard P. (Joan) Collins of South Boston, MA; grandchildren, Lauren Griffiths, Joseph Griffiths Jr., Jon Griffiths; and 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mae George of Boston; sisters-in-law, Lucille Bulman, Margaret Anglin of Sciuate, MA and Louise (Mrs. Francis) Mazzucotelli of Winchester, MA.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Spring Street, Newport, followed by a burial in Newport Memorial Park, 123 Howland Avenue, Middletown.
Visitation in the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street,, Newport, Tuesday, June 6, 2006 from 4-8:00 p.m.
