Elizabeth Scarlett Eggleston Coffey, 71, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014. Scarlett was a native of Martinsville, Va. and Yorktown resident since 1972. She graduated from Bassett High School in 1960 and retired from NASA in 1994 after 30 years of service as a contract specialist. She was a member of Seaford Church of Christ.

Scarlett was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mary Eggleston and is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, Donald Coffey and a brother, Lonnie Dale Eggleston of Martinsville, Va.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, in Amory Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Josh Purdy and Rev. Joe Parrish, officiating. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
