Joseph Parrish

Virginia Beach - Joseph Parrish, 88, of Masters Avenue passed away July 22, 2014. He was a native of Merry Oaks, NC born to the late Henry and Ruth Stancil Parrish; and was married in 1950 to the late Betty Edwards Parrish. Joseph served his country in the United States Army during WWII serving in both Europe and Japan; He retired after 43 years of service with the Ford Motor Company, founding member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, a 32 Mason and a member of the Willis V. Fentress Masonic Lodge #296 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies of Norfolk, and the Khedive Shrine Temple A. A. O. N. M.S.

He is survived by his daughter, Jackie E. Weaver; sons, Mitch Parrish, Tony Parrish (Judy), Billy Parrish, and Johnny Creech (Teresa); a sister, Lillian A. Mason; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

A service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 717 Tucson Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 with Pastor S. Wayne Rickman officiating followed by Masonic rites at the church. He will be laid to rest at Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach with military honors.
