Irene Dorothy Robinson, 95, Mitchell, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at Brady Health and Rehabilitation in Mitchell. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013, 10:30 AM, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be held Wednesday June 12, from 6-8:00 PM at the Bittner Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00.
Irene was born April 2, 1918 at Montrose, SD to Roy and Carrie (Fessler) Allington. She attended school in Mitchell. She married Maurice Robinson October 29, 1935 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. She worked at Montgomery Wards and St. Joseph Hospital. In 1948 Irene and her husband Maurice started Robinson Grocery in Mitchell and retired from there in 1982. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
She is survived by four sons: Leroy (Anita) Robinson of Loomis; Jerry Robinson of Richardson, TX; Leonard Robinson of Las Vegas, NV; Jackie (Bev) Robinson of Mitchell; one daughter-in-law, Joan Robinson, Sioux Falls; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and three step grandsons.
She was preceded in death her husband Maurice, her parents; one son, Art, four brothers and five sisters.
