Carl Dean Herron, the son of Robert and Dorthea (Brown) Herron, was born September 29, 1941, in Watson, Missouri. He attended Rock Port High School, in Rock Port, Missouri, graduating in 1959. In 1964, Carl was drafted into the United States Army, and proudly served his country for two years.

On January 22, 1967, Carl was united in marriage to Betty Hague at the United Methodist Church in Rock Port, and had just celebrated 47 wonderful years together. They became the parents of three children, Alan, Kymm and Kandi and made their home on their farm north of Rock Port.

Carl enjoyed football, loved gardening and harvesting his produce, being on the farm, playing cards and car races. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. Carl was a member of the Rock Port United Methodist Church and the Ralph Greer American Legion Post #49, Rock Port. Carl passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Missouri, at the age of 72.
