Frederick J. Stimler, 70, of Cuyahoga Falls died Jan. 30, 1992 at
Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital.

Mr. Stimler was born in Akron and had lived in Cuyahoga Falls since 1956.
He formerly worked for the Daniel Guggenheim Airship Institute on Aeronautical Research. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace in 1984 after 35 years service,
where he worked on space programs for the development of inflatable structures and re-entry systems, wire grid satellites, wire grid antennas, parachute
recovery systems, and advanced materials including Nitinol. While in Research & Development, he initiated parachute testing, developed jet engine thrust
reversers, worked on escape capsule recovery systems, and inflatable aircraft and structures. He graduated from St. Bernard Grade School, old South Akron
High School, the University of Akron, and Case School of Applied Science (now CWRU).

Mr. Stimler's memberships included Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (IHM),
where he was active for over 34 years, Falls Council Knights of Columbus 2362 (past Grand Knight), Victor J. Paul 4th Degree K of C Assembly 1768 (past
Faithful Navigator), Cleveland Diocesan Catholic Charities Board and
allocation panels, Heart Attack Support Group of Cuyahoga Falls General
Hospital, Friends of the Taylor Memorial Library, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, German-American Mutual Aid Society, American Institute of Aeronautics and
Astronautics, Sigma Tau Honorary, Holy Name Societies (Akron Deanery
President, St. Mary, Akron President, and IHM, Cuyahoga Falls president).

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and
Phyllis Stimler of Manhattan, N.Y., John and June Stimler of Atlantic Beach,
Fla., Jim and Kathleen Stimler of Cuyahoga Falls, and Tom and Suzanne Stimler of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Stephen Meadow of Downington, Pa.; daughter, Kathleen Stimler of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brothers,
Robert of Akron and William of Stow; grandchildren, Benjamin, Joanna,
Jonathan, Neal, Nicholas, Emily, Collin, Rachel and Garrett.
