Mass for Molly Valdez, 71, of Abernathy will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Thursday at St. Isidore Catholic Church with the Rev. Glen Rosendale, pastor of St Michael's Catholic Church in Levelland, officiating.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at St. Isidore Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery under direction of Abell Funeral Home.
She died Monday, July 19, 1999.
She was born on April 29, 1928 in Tecolotito, N.M. She married Mike Valdez on Oct. 27, 1947, in Rocky Ford, Colo. He died Aug. 1, 1993. She had lived in the Abernathy and County Line area since 1950. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Abernathy.
Survivors include a son, Mike Valdez, Jr. of El Paso; six daughters, Jane DeLeon of Lubbock, Theresa Marez of Abernathy, Dee Moralez of County Line, Judy Balderas of Plainview, Faye Cook of Los Lunas, N.M., and Kathy Collinson of Lubbock; five brothers, Rumaldo Lucero, Jr., Steve Lucero, Ernest Lucero, Eddie Lucero, and Flavio Lucero; four sisters, Estella DeLeon, Betty Duran, Andrea Gonzales, and Rose Ortiz; and 14 grandchildren.
