Livingston County Undersheriff Robt. Forrester announced Dec.27 that a 19 year old Avon Youth was fatally injured after falling off a tractor in the Town of Avon, at approximately 1 a.m.
It appears that the deceased, Randy Kelley, along with a fellow companion were riding the farm tractor on Bronson Hill Rd., in the Town of Avon, when Kelley stood up and fell underneath the tractor.
Kelley was then taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Investigating at the scene was Deputy Curtiss and continuing the investigation are Investigators Preston and Bastian.
Tim Carney, 18, of Avon, was on the tractor with Kelley, who was driving the tractor when he fell off. Carney was not hurt. Kelley's death was the 13th fatality of 1982 in Liv. County.
He is survived by his parents, William and Laura; a brother, Chuckle at home; a sister, Donna Williams of Rochester; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Sandy Kelley of Alabama; maternal grandparents, Evelyn Green of Cleveland and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Whipple of Jamestown; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, 350 Genesee St.,Avon, where services will be held Thursday at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Avon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Avon Ambulance Fund.
Randy was a senior at Avon Central School where he participated in several sports.
The people of Avon and the Avon Central School students are all saddened by his untimely death.
