Hallie Marie Stull Rose, 95, of Covington ,went peacefully to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 27, 2014.

She was the born April 27, 1919 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Ralph and Cora Bush Stull.

Mrs. Rose a devoted Mother and Grandmother. She always enjoyed cooking and loved feeding her family and friends. She was a long time member of Persinger United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. Rose in 1994; a daughter, Beverly J. Sampson and son-in-law, Robert B. Sampson, both in 2014 ; twin grandchildren, Richard and Rhonda Sampson; one sister, Gladys Humphreys and two brothers, Kenneth Stull and Melvin Stull.

Surviving are her son, Ronald "Ronnie" Rose and his wife Tiney of Covington; grandchildren, Vickie White and her husband, Richard of Waynesboro; Mike Sampson and his wife Beth of Roanoke; Todd Rose of Selma; two step granddaughters, Mendi Ridley and her husband Jason of Beaver, WV, Andrea Shiflett and her husband Robert of Covington; Great Grandchildren, Jason White and his wife, Nikki of Verona, KY; Jenni Cantori and her husband Ryan of Waynesboro; Shannon Sampson and Cole Sampson both of Roanoke, Kristen Rose of Covington; step great grandchildren, Hunter Ryder of Bath County and Grayson Ridley of Beaver, WV and Olivia Shiflett, of Covington two ; great great grandson, Brody White of Verona, KY and Chase Cantori of Waynesboro, two sisters, Louise Humphries and Ruby Stull, both of Covington; a sister-in-law, Ruth Stull of Covington ; a dear friend, Meg Jackson of Covington whom was considered part of the family and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 6:00 PM Thursday, July 31, 2014 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Brown officiating, assisted by the Rev. Bill Gilliland.

The family will receive their friends following the funeral service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Interment will be made Friday morning at 11:00 AM in Alleghany Memorial Park and those wishing to attend need to assemble at Arritt Funeral Home by 10:30 A.M.

Pallbearers will be Mike Sampson, Todd Rose, Jason White, Cole Sampson , Richard White and Robert Campbell.

Memorial donations in Mrs. Rose's name may be made to Persinger Memorial United Methodist Church in care of Valerie Hepler, 208 Parsonage Lane, Covington, VA 24426.
