Ephraim S. Lanning---- Age 23 years. Enlisted at Villenova, (Chautauqua Co NY) to serve one year, and mustered in as private, Co. H, September 13, 1864; wounded in action, October 19, 1864, at Cedar Creek, VA.; transferred to Co. E, November 29, 1864; died of typhoid fever, January 23, 1865, in Division Hospital, Camp Sheridan Va.; also borne as Laning.
Born Steuben Co NY age 23 years, Occupation Farmer. Eyes Blue, Hair Brown, Comp Light 5' 8 1/2 in high.
