Myrtle was a fun loving spirit always trying to enjoy life to the maximum. Her laugh was contagious and she was said to have been the inspiration for Omaha's Stone Soul Picnic while working in the Parks and Recreation Department. Her love for people was shown throughout the city.

She was predeceased by her husband Clinton Renfrow Sr.;two sons, Leroy Ford Jr. and Daryl Ford, both parents and one brother.
