Steven L. Moss
Steven Lee "Peat" Moss, 61, of Fairland died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at his home.
Born Jan. 30, 1947, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Clifford C. and Lorena (Bennett) Moss. He married Bonnie Jo Hirschauer, and she survives.
Other survivors include his father of Fairland; sons, Jason Thomas Moss of Indianapolis and Justin Douglas Moss of Fairland; brothers, William Wayne "Bill" Moss of Florida, Clifford David Moss, Alan K. Moss and Bryan R. Moss, all of Shelbyville; sister, Sharrell (husband, Larry) Adkins of Rushville; and grandchildren, Jacob Moss and Lauren Moss.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Mr. Moss had been a journeyman plumber for Local Union No. 440, then a superintendent for BMW Construction and an apprentice instructor for Local Union No. 440.
He was a volunteer for the election board and the Democratic Party.
Mr. Moss was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 822.
He enjoyed woodworking and restoring older automobiles.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
A prayer service at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Hirschauer officiating.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., with the Rev. Chris Craig officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
