George was born in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky on November 20, 1930 to the late John and Pearl (Tucker) Jones.
George was a truck driver and had worked at Faultless Caster in Evansville, Indiana. He served in the United States Army. George enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
George is survived by his wife, Darlene Jones; Children, Rhonda Yonts and her husband, Randy of Evansville, IN; Vicki Johnson of Rockport, IN; George Jones Jr. of Hatfield, IN; Raylene Brown and her husband, David of Rockport, IN; Karen Rearden and her husband, David of Hawesville, KY; Shelley Poole of Richland, IN; Tereasa Keefer and her husband, Todd of Rockport, IN; Becky Woodward and her husband, Woody of Rockport, IN; 14 Grandchildren and several step-grandchildren; Many great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Services are 2 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Indiana with Pastor Tim Coomer officiating. Burial is in Bates Hill Cemetery in Yankeetown, Indiana. The Rockport American Legion Post 254 will conduct military honors.
