George lived and died in his home county. He had three wives and some children with each one, but we do not yet know their burial places.
1. Alice Moody, 1870-1895, mother of William, b. 1890, and John, b. 1894.
2. Annie Hendricks, 1879- abt. 1905, mother of Alex, b. 1900, and George, b. 1905
3. Nannie Williams, b. 1887, mother of Cindy, b. 1907, Nora, 1909, Alice, 1911, Mary, 1913, Lewis, 1916, and Elizabeth, b. 1918. After George's death Nannie is found with her 6 Cates kids and her daughter Leona Ballinger, age 14 in 1920. After that Nannie is not found.

Gravesite Details

Death certificates says burial at Owsley Fork. We think this is the Cates family cemetery on Owsley Fork Road, but it might mean the church cemetery. There is no grave stone found at either location. Two of his children are buried here.
