MOUNT HOPE — Frederick "Fred" Ray Dinkler Sr., age 86, of Mount Hope, was called home on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness.

Born August 19, 1927, in Beckley, WV, a son of the late Adolf Dinkler and Edith Evans Dinkler.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Dinkler; brothers, Adolf, Jr., Sherman, James, and Dennis Dinkler; and a sister, Macil Stover.

Frederick was a full-time minister for over 60 years including Assistant Minister for his church family at North Beckley Church of Christ from 1990-2005, Lester Church of Christ minister for several decades, Stover Church of Christ, Oak Hill Church of Christ and numerous other churches.

Fred also was a principal and teacher in Raleigh County at several schools for over 30 years, including Clear Fork and Bradley Elementary.

Among his accomplishments he received an A.A. Degree from Beckley College, a B.S. from Concord College, and his Master's in Education from the University of Mississippi. He also attended Freed-Hardeman and David Lipscomb Universities.

Fred was a humble man and was loved by so many. He was always ready to help in any way.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Richard Dinkler and wife Lanona of Ontario, CA, Stanley Dinkler of Virginia Beach, VA, Fred Dinkler Jr. and wife Cheryl of Mount Hope, and Anderson Dinkler and wife Billie of Mount Hope; daughter, Connie Dinkler of Salisbury, NC; a loving twin, Freda Mae Mallory of South Charleston, WV; grandchildren, Steven Dinkler of Daniels, Jason Dinkler and wife Amanda of Pax, Annette Dinkler of Colton, CA, Ryan Dinkler of Salisbury, NC, Avalon Bingamon of Statesville, NC, Lana Calloway and husband Sam of Oak Hill, Leigh Ann Anderson of Oak Hill, Autumn Truman and husband Jim of Oak Hill, James Lanham of Pax, Harley Reed and Jared Kessler both of Mount Hope; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and also his loving caretaker, Cindy Green of Fairdale.

Services to celebrate the life of Fred Dinkler will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014, at the Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel in Beckley with Minister Adam Davis officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum 5 in Beckley.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, July 19, 2014, from 6 to 9 p.m.
