Madison - Eric John Hart, age 40, passed away unexpectedly at his home.
He was born June 24, 1973 in New Berlin, Wisconsin, the son of Dave and Betty (Schultze) Hart.
A 1991 graduate of Verona Area High, it was here he acquired the nickname "Hart" and it followed him throughout the remainder of his life. Loved by all who met him, there were few places the name "Hart" wasn't known.
Hockey was his first love; he strapped on his first pair of skates at age 6 and played with Verona Hockey throughout high school. When he wasn't on the ice, he was an avid fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and Buffalo Bills. Eric was the sweetest son and best big brother anyone could ask for. He protected his family above all else. He will be remembered for his overwhelming generosity and constant love.
This world will never know a kinder soul than our Eric. He was a true gift. There are no words to describe how much you will be missed. We love you Eric.
Eric is survived by his parents: Dave and Betty of Verona; three siblings, Ryan, Mandy and Staci (Matt) Prise; aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; one aunt and three uncles.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, Verona Chapel, 220 Enterprise Drive with Cathy Schneider officiating. Burial will follow at. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 16 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
