Albany A. Milam Dies in Hospital
Funeral arrangements are incomplete for Albany A. Milam, 72, of 2108 S. Kanawha St., who died at 5:15 am Thursday of an apparent Heart attack shortly after admission to a local hospital.
Born March 16, 1893, at Redbird, he was a son of the late Robert and Layena Hearst Milam.
A principal and teacher in Raleigh County schools and a lifetime resident of the county, he was a member of the Methodist Church and a Navy Veteran of World War I.
He attended the Alderson Military Academy and held an A B degree from Concord College and a Masters from West Virginia University.
Milam is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Wall Milam; one daughter, Mrs. George (Gloria) Killman of Beckley; one son, Bill Milam of Beckley; two sisters, Mrs. Elson Daniel of Glen Daniel and Mrs. William Arnold of Whitesville; and one granddaughter.
The body is at the Calfee Funeral Home.
