Mrs. Frances H. Breedlove, 95, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, widow of William N. Breedlove, died Friday, July 25, 2014, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Breedlove was born October 7, 1918, in Charleston, South Carolina, a daughter of Eggert Heinsohn and Nina Hair Heinsohn.

She attended Murray Vocational School and worked for the News and Courier newspaper, now known as the Charleston Post & Courier. Frances retired in 1985 as secretary to the Editor. She was a member of the Charleston Rifle Club Auxiliary and a lifelong member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Frances enjoyed cooking and most of all, baking. She was known for all her wonderful confections.

She is survived by a son, William N. Breedlove Jr. (Mary) of Jamestown, NC; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Breedlove of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a granddaughter, Ashley Breedlove Welch (Ethan) of Wilmington, NC; two great-granddaughters, Nora Elizabeth Welch and Harper Grace Welch; and two sisters: Ann H. Cowan of Charleston, SC, and Duly H. Walker of Woodville, FL.

She was predeceased by her brother, Eggert Heinson.

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2014, in the Fellowship Room of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 405 King Street, Charleston, SC 29403.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Chapel. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery.
