Otto V. Ewig, 69 of 22 Brockton Road, Niantic, Ct, formerly of Springfield, died Wednesday at home. Born, October 11, 1903 in Springfield, he was the son of the late Otto J. and Margaret (Wright) Ewig. He was a buyer at Forbes and Wallace Department Store, retiring in 1964. After moving to Niantic four years ago, he joined the Niantic Rotary Club and the Niantic Baptist Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lillian (Sunden) Ewig; one son Jack Knight of Easthampton: one daughter, Mrs. Joanne McCallum of Arcadia, Calif., one brother, Robert of Shreveport, LA; and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Gleason of Greenfield. The funeral will be Saturday noon at East Lyme Funeral home of Alderson-Prentis, in Niantic. The Rev. Cortland Bryant, minister of the Niantic Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
