She married following high school and following his death she returned to South Dakota. She operated boilers in Idaho and in South Dakota. She also worked as an assembler for Stampers Gold and Coleman. She quit working in order to care for her parents. Following their deaths she worked for "Visiting Angels".
Kim enjoyed motorcycles, riding horses, singing and enjoying life.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Rhodes, Nemo; one brother, Randy Pinkerton, Rapid City; nephew, Scott Pinkerton, Corvallis, OR; three stepdaughters; and numerous cousins.
