Virginia Emily "Ginny" Newton, 84, resident of Sandusky, passed away early Thursday afternoon, July 24, 2014, in Concord Care and Rehabilitation Center in Sandusky, following a brief illness.

She was born Dec. 9, 1929, in Tiffin, Ohio, to the Rev. Emil and Helen (Ritz) Klutey. She was a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ.

She is survived by a sister, Carolyn (Gary) Spayd of Sandusky; three sons, John (Peggy) of Tuscon, Ariz., Mike (Linda Werling) of Rockville, Md., and Bill (Becky) of Valrico, Fla.; a daughter, Nancy, of Sandusky; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Ginny was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bill, on March 21, 2008; her sisters, Helen and Miriam; and her parents.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 28, at David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, in the funeral home. The Rev. Jerald A. Fenske will officiate. Entombment will be in the Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum, Sandusky.
