My Grandmother "Polle" was the daughter of Sara McGiehan and Arthur Hoefler, Sr. she was born in New York City. A very creative, artistic lady, she loved life, her family, her friends and animals. She married twice, her first husband was Ernest Bond called "Hap," they married in 1926 had two sons. In 1937 she married to Frank Guttridge. He was a very talented artist and Grandma became one too. They both had very natural abilities. Alot of Grandma's work was in pastels and faces she was a marvelous artist. As a child she lived in New York and then mostly in New Jersey. She later moved to Long Island lived in Bayport there and after marrying Grandpa Frank in Patchogue and Cutchogue. In 1962 they moved to Connecticut. She lived briefly again in Long Island sometime after Grandpa's death but moved back to Connecticut. She passed away of the terrible disease Alzheimer's in Newtown, Connecticut. My Uncle had her cremated and scattered her ashes. She was a unique person and I love her very much.
