Frankie Allen Payne, 60, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 while doing what he enjoyed, operating heavy equipment.

He was born May 20, 1954 to Gracie Johnson Payne and the late Rufus Payne. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Diane Payne and one brother, Bobby Payne.

Frankie, together with his son, was co-owner and operator of P&P Grading. He was a member of Ewing First Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, Gracie Payne, he is survived by one son, Adam Payne and wife Sara of Tazewell, TN; daughter, Jessica Powers and husband Adam of Cumberland Gap, TN; two granddaughter, whom he loved dearly, Peyton Payne and Jaelyn Powers; sister, Patsy Sowders and husband Carl Ray of Ewing, VA; and brothers, Larry Maggard of Rose Hill and Ralph Payne and wife Carrie of Ewing, VA; special friend and companion, Sue Taylor; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Robinette Funeral Home in Rose Hill. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. David Wade and Rev. Ronnie Owens officiating. The interment will follow in Richmond Cemetery in Ewing.

Pallbearers will be Adam Powers, Adam Payne, Richard Bailey, Gary Powers, Jeff Cox and Gary Cope.
