Mrs. Stella Niesen, wife of Matt Niesen, veteran Chicago golf and bowling official, died yesterday afternoon in Illinois Masonic hospital after a week's illness.
Mrs. Niesen, 67, was a lifelong resident of Chicago. Her husband was the only tournament chairman for all 17 of the golf tournaments at Tam O'Shanter Country club, and is a director of the Chicago District Golf association and an officer of the Illinois Seniors Golf association.
They resided at 6319 N. Spokane av. Mrs. Niesen also is survived by a son, Robert M,; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Pfad, and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the funeral home, 6150 N. Cicero av. The funeral mass will be sung Tuesday morning in Queen of All Saints Basilica, 6280 N. Sauganash av.
