"Ernest Randall, proprietor of the Craig pool hall, was born on his father's farm, five miles south of Craig. He is the son of Z.T. Randall, a native of Kentucky and an early settler in Holt county. The later years of his life, he spent in Craig, where he was in the insurance business. He died in 1913, at the age of 63 years. His wife is still living in Craig.

Ernest was married December 18, 1907, to Alcanie Overly, who was born at Bigelow, and is the daughter of Henry Overly. They have three children: Katherine, Francis, and Laverna. He is a member of the Modern Woodmen Lodge.

His place of business is located in the old Phillips building. He runs three tables, all of which he bought when he began business.

Ernest Randall died at the Missouri Methodist hospital in St. Joseph Friday, Sept. 14. He was 75 years, 7 months, and 23 days old. He had been in ill health for a long time.

Ernest was born at the farm home of his parents, Zachariah and Phylura Randall, south of Craig. At an early age he moved with his parents to Craig where he spent the rest of his life.

He was married to Canna Overly of Bigelow, and to this union four daughters were born.

Mr. Randall served as marshal and collector of Craig, for several years.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha; and three brothers, Tom, Earl and Elijah.

Survivors include the four daughters, Mrs. Catherine Kite, Mrs. Frances Moore, Mrs. Mabel Meyer, and Mrs. Connie Kite, all of St. Joseph; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Bowman, Falls City, Nebr.; Mrs. Fannie E. Hopkins, Decatur, Ark., and Mrs. Letha Hansen, Kansas City.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Sept. 17, at 2:00 o'clock at the Schooler Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Buell officiating. Miss Pamela Gray accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Harold Gray, at the piano sang "In The Garden" and "Abide With Me."

Pallbearers were Billy Sharp, Frank Pebley, Archie Harper, Ira Yandell, Harold Gray, Clavel Howard.

Interment was in IOOF Cemetery, near Craig.
