Mrs. Miller was born on January 25, 1914 in Woodville. She graduated from public schools there and then from the University of Mississippi in 1935. She met her husband Robert when she was teaching at a one-room schoolhouse in Crosby, Mississippi. After their wedding, they lived briefly in Florida and Memphis before ultimately moving to Jackson where she resided until her death.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker, a loving wife and devoted mother. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed being with her friends. She was known for hosting Tuesday afternoon 'milk punch parties' for her peers.
Some of her happiest times were spent in traveling around the United States and in Europe after her spouse's retirement from Travelers.
Mrs. Miller had a severe stroke in 1996 and since that time exhibited remarkable courage and a positive attitude in dealing with very severe physical restrictions on her day-to-day life.
She was a member of Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Miller, Jr.
Survivors include sons, Robert B. Miller and wife, Retta, of Jackson and Charles Miller and wife, Jenny, of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Mary Brannan Miller, Robert Miller, Bennett Miller , Will Martens and Steve Martens; and four great-grandchildren.
