Funeral services for Phillip E. Sappington, a resident of Commerce since 1946, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the First Christian church there. Charles Hicks, minister, will officiate.
Sappington, 74, died at 3:48 a.m. Saturday at his home, 211 South Cherry street, after an illness of five months. He was employed by the Star grocery at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dena Sappington of the home, and two nieces, Mrs. Mae B. Wray, Fallon, Nev., and Mrs. Wilma Phillips of Kansas City, Kan.
Pallbearers will be J.B. Farrar, Harry Cole, Don Shaw, Chris O'Brien, Bussie Corbus and Albert Von Moss Jr. Burial will be in GAR cemetery under direction of the Jim Thomas Funeral home.
