Paonia resident Lindy L. Smith passed away at Delta County Memorial Hospital on Saturday October 18, 2008, with his family and friends surrounding him at his bedside. He was 77 years of age.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday October 27, 2008 at Paonia United Methodist Church, with Pastor Russell Fletcher officiating.

Lindy LaClead Smith was born to Clarence E and Icie B Smith on June 14, 1931 in Kit Carson County, Colorado.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 56 years Donna, one daughter Crystal of Paonia, sons; Rodney Smith & Loye Greene of Bennett, Colorado and Timothy & Deanna Smith of Arvada, Colorado, 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Hope Hase of Seibert, Colorado and Joann Peterson of Flagler, Colorado and one brother Royal Smith of Aurora, Colorado and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Garry Don, son-in-law Nick Richmond, 5 brothers, 4 sisters and his Mother and Father.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
