Mrs. Pauline Chadwick Angell of Blairmont Drive, Boone, died Thursday morning, Aug. 29, 2002 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte after a brief illness.

Born in Brunswick County, she was a daughter of Martin and Bessie White Chadwick.

Mrs. Angell was an alumna of Appalachian State University and a retired school teacher and librarian in Watauga County. She worked in the shipyard in Wilmington, which built ships during World War II. She also served as Price Administrator of Brunswick County until 1945.

She was a member of the Boone United Methodist Women, the Watauga Association of Retired Teachers, the AARP, and a former member of The Highland Book Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, ASU Women's Club and other community organizations.

Survivors include her husband, W. Guy Angell; one sister, Ella Aldridge of Southport; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Boone United Methodist Church, officiated by Dr. Ron Smith. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1 until 2 o'clock, prior to services, at the church. Entombment will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens.
