Charles was living with his mother when he
was drafted into the US Army.
He arrived in Vietnam 3 July 1969 where he
was assigned to B Company,5th Battalion,7th
Calvary,1st Calvary Division,USARV.He was on
a patrol when B Company was engaged by
hostile forces in the vicinity of Phuoc Long,
Binh Phuoc Long Province,S Vietnam.Charles
was wounded and was med-evac and died as a
result of multiple fragmentation wounds to
the body while at the 249th General Hospital,
at Camp Drake,Japan.
Survived by his mother,Jane A Stewart of 202
W 41st St,Wilmington,DE.
His father was deceased.Name unknown.
