Obituary for Bruce Sanders

Bruce Alan Sanders was born in Monroe on August 29, 1967. He was the son of the late Paul Edward Sanders Sr. and Joyce Katherine (Ainslie) Sanders. He attended Monroe Schools graduating with the Class of 1985.

Bruce enjoyed working with his hands. For many years, he was employed as a Laborer in the construction industry, and he spent much of this career working for the St. Bernard Family. Bruce was very personable and well-liked, he loved his work and was a hard worker, quickly becoming the right hand man on many projects.

Bruce was especially proud of his daughter, Angel, and he cherished the time that he spent with her. He had a passion for the outdoors, and his love for hunting and fishing was passed along to her. Bruce had taken her under his wing on many occasions sharing his carpentry skills and teaching her how to build things.

Bruce enjoyed music and especially like jamming to rock and roll. One of his favorite pastimes was watching movies. Bruce liked to party and socialize with friends, and although burning the midnight oil was common, he somehow always managed to make it to work the next day.

Bruce Alan Sanders, age 46 of Flat Rock passed away at home on Saturday, July 20, 2014. He had been in declining health. In addition to his father his passing was preceded by his grandparents, two sisters: Bonney Lynn Herrick and Lori Ann Sanders; and one brother: Randy Sanders.

To cherish his memory Bruce leaves a daughter: Angel Sanders of Ida; his mother: Joyce K. Sanders of Monroe; sister: Kathy Jo Hutchison of College Station, Texas; brother: Paul "Butch" Sanders Jr. of Monroe; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and co-workers including close friend: Raymond Noble Jr.

Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia. Friends may gather for a graveside service at 10:00am on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle where he will be laid to rest next to his father. Pastor Donald Brown of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 has been entrusted with his arrangements.
