Mr. Samuel Riley, Sr., age 66, of Atmore, AL., passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the home of his mother.

Mr. Samuel "Cowboy" Riley Sr., 66, of Atmore transitioned into his earthly home on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, surrounded by his family at the home of his mother, Rosa Wallace.

A native of Atmore, Mr. Riley attended school at Ebenezer Lutheran School and Escambia County Training School. He was a member of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church and had retired in April 2014 from Standard Furniture Company, with over 45 years of employment.

In his leisure time, Mr. Riley Sr., affectionately known as "Cowboy" to his family and friends, enjoyed riding horses and farming.

Those who await his arrival into God's Kingdom include his father, Narvie Riley Sr., two grandsons, Samuel Riley III and Samuel "Sammie" Riley; one sister, Valerie Riley Myers; three brothers, Narvie Riley Jr., Onnie Riley and Willie Oscar Riley; and grandparents, Nathaniel and Cora Freeman and Oscar and Nellie Riley.

Those left with fond memories of his life include his wife, Mary Ann Martin Riley of Atmore; one daughter, Alisa Annette Riley of Century, FL.; four sons, Samuel (Maretha) Riley Jr., Darrell DeWayne (Sharon) Riley, Vernon Lee Riley and Quentin Riley, all of Atmore; his mother, Rosa Wallace of Atmore; three sisters, Rosa (Wamon) Riley Davis of Atmore, Callie (Ronnie) Riley Smalls and April Holmes of Wewahitchka, FL.; five brothers, Bobby (Mary) Riley, Bishop Dashwood (Nancy) Riley and Nelson Riley, all of Atmore, Jimmy Riley of Panama City, Fla., and Michael (Annie) Riley of Wewahitchka, FL.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the Holy Community Christian Center, with Bishop Dashwood Riley, eulogist and Apostle Jimmie C. Wilson, host pastor.

Inhumation will be in the Fairview Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and his body will lie instate at the church one hour prior to the funeral service with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC, directing.
