Mrs. Charlotte A. Ebenhoe, age 70, of 337 Tower Ave., Kellnersville, died unexpectedly Friday, December 20, 1991 at her residence. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 24, 1991 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. Rev. William J. Eberhardy and concelebrants will officiate with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Kellnersville.

She was born May 22, 1921 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph and Ida Neumeyer Backhaus. She grew up in the township of Manitowoc Rapids and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in Alverno. She lived in Manitowoc County all her life. She married Edward N. Ebenhoe on November 20, 1943 at St. Joseph Catholic church at Alverno. They moved to Kellnersville in 1951. Her husband preceded her in death on December 6, 1954. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish, President of the St. Joseph Rosary Society, member of St. Joseph Cemetery Assocation, chairperson of the social committee of St. Joseph Parish, past member of the parish council and education committee. She was a lay communion distributor. She served on the Commission on Vicariate 12 Ladies Organization of Green Bay Diocese. Mrs. Ebenhoe was also a member of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. She was a member and past president of Kubale O’Connell VFW Auxiliary No. 6179 of Cato, a member of Catholic Knights Insurance Society Branch No. 86 of Francis Creek and the Association for Retarded Citizens of Manitowoc County. She was also an active 4-H leader for many years.

Survivors include six sons and three daughters-in-law, Ronald and Patrice Ebenhoe of Traverse City, Mich., Ralph and Bonnie Ebenhoe of Menomonee Falls, Wis., Edward and Lynn Ebenhoe of Whitelaw, Marvin Ebenhoe and special friend, Millie of Manitowoc, Howard Ebenhoe of Kellnersville, Joseph Ebenhoe of Fond du Lac, currently serving missionary duty in Japan; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Lorraine Ebenhoe of Manitowoc, Jane Ebenhoe of Madison, Marilyn and Gerald Neuser of Mishicot, Margaret (Marge) and Dennis Phillip of rural Francis Creek, LindaJean Ebenhoe of Green Bay; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Paul and Thel Backus of rural Manitowoc, Robert and Gertrude Backus of Alverno, Wis., Allen and Genevieve Backhaus of rural Manitowoc, Ray Backus of Manitowoc, James and Darlene Backus of Kaukauna; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Marie Miller of Sheboygan, Alice Eisner of Manitowoc, Ruth and Rolland Spatchek of Reedsville; 14 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Roger.

Friends may call at the Saur Funeral Home in Kellnersville on Monday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. when at 6 p.m. the VFW Auxiliary will have services. Rev. Eberhardy will hold parish prayer services at 7 p.m. St. Joseph Rosary Society will have a joint Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services with morning prayers at 10 a.m.
She was a very caring person, devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
